Protective film instead of window bars and shutters

Protective film on windows as a method of organizing protective glazing is approved by the Non-departmental Guard and is widely used in banks, shops and other public institutions, as well as in private apartments and country houses instead of lattice fences.

Shock-proof protective film provides protection of window blocks no worse, and in some cases more reliable than grilles and anti-vandal blinds.

The anti-shock window protective film greatly increases the strength of the glass when trying to penetrate: some break-in tools become completely useless or ineffective against glass protected by an impact-resistant film.

Impact protection

A protective film glued to the glass gives it shock resistance.

During certification tests of the film, the impact-resistant properties are checked by throwing a four-kilogram steel ball three times from a great height (from 3.5 to 9.5 m). The glass may break, but the ball must not fall to the floor.

Protective film against splinters

The protective film is resistant to mechanical damage: it is not destroyed and absorbs most of the shock wave energy during an explosion. The anti-shock film applied to the glass from the room side allows the glass to be shatterproof. During an explosion, in most cases, personnel are not affected by the blast wave, but by glass fragments. But with the applied film, this option is completely excluded, because the window film holds back the debris and prevents people from being injured.

Anti-burglary protective film

The strength of glass with a protective film is increased many times over. It is difficult to break it even with many hammer blows. Even if the glass breaks, it remains «hanging on the film» without falling out of the frame.

An experienced criminal planning theft or robbery, carefully calculates the time that is needed to penetrate the room. If there are grids on the windows, glass doors, he will either think of a way to hack them in advance, or find another way of penetration. Glass surfaces with reinforcing protective films are indistinguishable in appearance from ordinary ones. When the glass does not break at once during attempts to penetrate, the “temporary schedule” of the perpetrator is violated.

 

Protective film against weapons

Protective films on the windows of an apartment, private house or office can also protect against traumatic or fire hazards.

Of course, a bullet with a steel core, fired from an automatic machine or a gun, can easily penetrate even several layers of the thickest protective film (a Kalashnikov assault rifle breaks through even a bothersome fire) However, at the same time, the lethal force of the bullet decreases, and most importantly, the accuracy of targeting decreases.

Shooting from a traumatic or pneumatic weapon through glass with a protective film may be impossible.

The protective film does not provide adequate protection against firearms, playing an auxiliary role.

Eavesdropping protection

The film will not be able to provide protection against all methods of surveillance and industrial espionage, but in some cases it will be difficult or prevented to remove sound information from glass.

A common hidden way (in addition to installing microphones) of listening to voices in the room is based on the fact that the reflected laser beam is directed to the window glass (vibrating under the sound of speech) by the sound of sound. The sound signal reconstructed from the drawing repeats the conversation into the room.

When installing a protective and toning film, the level of vibration and glass reflection caused by acoustic waves is significantly reduced. It is very difficult to detect vibrations of glass with an applied protective film from the street, and it is almost impossible to highlight the sound signal in the received laser radiation.
